The smell of fresh-baked chocolate pound cake fills the air as I walk it my Grammy’s house. That’s how I know it is Christmas! Christmas dinner is just as important to the overall mood of Christmas as is the presents. A proper Christmas dinner requires a vast array of food that makes the holiday jolly and bright. In today’s post, I am going to detail what a typical Christmas dinner looks like in my family and also provide some helpful tips and recipes to help make your Christmas merry.
The smell of fresh-baked chocolate pound cake fills the air as I walk it my Grammy’s house. That’s how I know it is Christmas! Christmas dinner is just as important to the overall mood of Christmas as is the presents. A proper Christmas dinner requires a cast array of food that makes the holiday jolly and bright. In today’s post, I will detail what a typical Christmas dinner looks like in my family and provide some helpful tips and recipes to help make your Christmas merry. Chicken Pie requires only seven (or eight) ingredients. This is not your frozen chicken pot pie. This pie is void of any vegetables and is filled with Chicken goodness. The pie is relatively simple to make, but I am sworn to secrecy, so..
The pie is a unique recipe from the inventive mind of my mom. The first time my husband tried a piece of chicken pie, he said “This is life-changing.”
Christmas Morning we have breakfast at my mom’s house and enjoy Pillsbury rolls. These are the tradition that goes back to my childhood. Thinking of them oozing with icing on Christmas morning just elicits a different feeling than preparing them at other times throughout the year. Also, my husband has brought in his family tradition of sausage pie. This pie is an original creation of his mother and is also a cherished family recipe.
This breakfast pie combines all my breakfast favorites in an easy and portable bite.
Christmas Dinner takes place at my Grammy’s house and includes my favorite holiday food Chocolate Pound Cake. This cake has been my go-to cake for my entire life. Ever Christmas it is the singular food that I look forward to the most! It tastes like home to me! The recipe is a guarded family secret that has been passed down in my family generations.
This cake is the embodiment of Christmas dinner for me!
What are your Christmas dinner traditions? Christmas is coming and my tastebuds can hardly wait!
