Elevate Your Outdoor Space with These Stylish Additions

Updated: Oct 23

Do you want to add a little extra something to your garden? Is your garden tidy but missing something? Adding certain elements to your garden can make it prettier and more functional, but what to add to it may be a question you simply can’t answer. Let’s take a look at some ideas on elements you can add to your garden.

Shed

One of the most common additions to any garden is a shed. It can be used for many things, from storing tools and bikes right down to some much needed shelter when the rain starts pouring. Perhaps your garden doesn’t quite look right because you don’t have that storage space, or maybe you’ve been keeping your tools in your utility room. Either way, a shed doesn’t have to be boring, and you don’t have to stick to the traditional boring wooden shed. In fact, you can choose from a wide range of customized portable buildings that won’t only serve a purpose but will look fantastic in your garden too.

Decking

Another addition to your garden that you might consider is adding decking to create a space to add garden furniture and a BBQ. This is the perfect choice for those wanting to add a space to entertain friends and family without having to sit on an uneven and damp lawn. You might choose to build it yourself, but there are lots of deck installation companies out there that can do a professional job that will last for years.

Summer house

If you’re the type to use your garden all year round, you’ll know all too well how disappointing it can be when it starts to rain or it gets a little too cold. That’s where the summer house comes in. It’s generally larger than a shed, and many people have it fitted with electricity to enjoy some heat and other forms of entertainment like a TV or radio. If you already have an outbuilding you can repair and use, factor in the renovation and roof replacement cost as part of your project. It’s a great way of still spending time in the garden without getting too wet or cold.

Pergola

If you’re looking for something to create a focal point in your garden, a pergola is a great choice. In fact, if you do decide to build a deck, placing your pergola over the deck helps provide some shade in the summer months, especially if you let plants climb up and around it. Again, this should be a fairly simple build, but you can buy premade ones at hardware stores all over the place.

Fountain

Finally, there’s something so peaceful about a fountain in the garden. Birds can use it to drink from and bathe in, and you’ll have an extra piece of tranquility when you’re relaxing in your garden. If you wanted to take it up a notch, you could place the fountain over a fish pond, and add a handful of colorful Koi Carps to an extra piece of beauty in your garden.

As you can see, adding that missing piece doesn’t have to be difficult. With a few small additions, your garden will be complete in no time.
